SAMPLE ITINERARY # 1
CAMPING AS WELL AS SMALL LODGING TRIP.

PAX – AT LEAST 5. (12 DAYS)

DAY 1: Pick up at Kilimanjaro International Airport, (KIA), have dinner and spend the night in Arusha.

DAY 2: After an early breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National park for your first exciting game drive. Manyara usually offers sightings of lion, giraffe, elephants and troops of olive baboon. Spend the night in the small village of Karatu at Kudu Lodge.

DAY 3: Drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the eight wonder of the world 'Ngorongoro Crater' for game viewing. You'll have an excellent opportunity to see all of the 'Big Five.' In the afternoon, drive to Nainokanoka village and hike up Ol Moti Crater, a shallow grassy crater and with a beautiful cascading waterfall. Camp under the stars at Nainokanoka ranger post.

DAY 4: Drive to Embulbul depression, and start hiking again with small day packs, to the rim of Empakai crater, we will have our cook arrange a dinner at camp that night so we'll have time to listen to the strange sound of flamingos migrating to other soda lakes.

DAY 5: After breakfast, descend into Empakai crater, a very beautiful "bowl" of nature, containing the deepest soda lake in the world. Get a chance to approach the pink cloud of flamingos, just ten meters away, before ascending to the rim and embarking on another crater floor game drive.

DAY 6: Drive to Oldupai Gorge to see the remnants of our ancestors who inhabited the area about 3 million years ago. There you can see excavated bones and footprints which have been fossilized in volcanic ash. In the afternoon we will proceed to Seronera camp in Serengeti National Park, world famous for its huge plains and big migration ofanimals.

DAY 7: Spend all day on the Serengeti plain, you might sight big prides of lions, leopards, migrating herds, giant elephants, antelope, and more. Sleep at Seronera camp.

DAY 8: After a sunrise game drive from Seronera in the Serengeti, leave for our Maasai village visit. Here you will be introduced to the intricacies of Maasai life and have a chance to interact with the many young children from the different families living in the village bomas. They will be excited to show you their homes and take digital pictures with you. Come nightfall, we'll share stories and songs about Maasai origin. You'll have the opportunity to sleep in a Maasai home or in comfortable camping arrangements.

DAY 9: Climb mount Makarot where you can see the Serengeti plain, Ndutu plains, and Lake Eyasi (your next destination). Return to Missigiyo for another night with the Maasai; we'll make a big fire and share a traditional goat roast with new friends.

DAY 10: Drive to Lake Eyasi game controlled area. Stay at Lake Eyasi Bushmen camp where we'll visit the Hadzabe (Bushmen). This nomadic tribe sleeps under the trees and eats through hunting and gathering. Take time to shoot bow and arrow and go hunting with them in the evening.

DAY 11: Drive back through Karatu stopping to visit an Iraqw traditional boma. Carry on to Tarangire National Park where you might witness big herds of African tuskers, gigantic baobab trees, tree climbing pythons, and poachers hide. Stay at Tarangire river lodge.

DAY 12: Spend the morning touring the Silale swamps, and then drive all the way back to Arusha for some afternoon shopping in the market. We'll share final banquet in the evening before heading to the airport for the flight back home.


SAMPLE ITINERARY # 2
‘ARE YOU NUTS” MADNESS TRIP

AT LEAST 5 PAX (14 DAYS)



DAY 1: Pick up at Kilimanjaro International Airport, (KIA), drive to Arusha, stay at Impala Hotel.

DAY 2: After an early breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park for a half day game drive. Witness the large movement of animals (especially elephants) into the park from their migration habitat in Lake Manyara National Park. They leave the park during wet season and come back to the park in dry season.

After lunch, drive to Lake Eyasi game controlled area. Stay at Lake Eyasi Bushmen camp, our cook will prepare dinner and we'll sleep under the stars beside the camp fire as we'll do throughout the trip. (May use specially designed mosquito nets)

DAY 3: After breakfast, visit the Hadza (Bushmen). This nomadic tribe sleeps under the trees and eats through hunting and gathering. Take time to shoot bow and arrow and go hunting with them in the evening. Stay with the Hadza for at night in the bush, this will be backpack style camping where we prepare our own food.

DAY 4: Wake up early in the morning to hunt with the Bushmen before sunrise. Afterwrds, follow them out and say goodbye. Hike back to our vehicles and drive to Endamaghay ranger post, drop there and start walking along Endamaghay River to the base of the rift valley gorge, we will have our food supply car with us this far.

DAY 5: After breakfast, prepare for a long trek. Carry everything on our backs (including charcoal or MSR stoves). We can also carry water or arrange for donkeys to bring us water from Ngorongoro and meet us at the top of rift valley gorge. Stay in the bush this night. Alternate option: Stay with vehicles for more game drives. Base camp at Missigiyo and meet up with hikers there.

DAY 6: After breakfast, walk to Missigiyo campsite where we'll meet our vehicles and our cook for some coffee and lunch. Next drive into the Ngorongoro crater for animal viewing-guaranteed sighting of the big three, but a good chance to see the big five. The scenery is incredible. Return to Missigiyo private campsite for the night.

DAY 7: Spend another day in the Ngorongoro crater, this time very early in the morning to increase the chances of finding nocturnal animals like the leopard. Visit some of most remote parts of the crater before other vehicles arrive.

After a late lunch, leave for a Maasai village visit, where there could be an option of slaughtering a goat, roasting the meat, and feasting with the Maasai warriors in the bush. Spend the night again under the stars in the Maasai community.

DAY 8: After breakfast, get in to the vehicles and drive for about half an hour to crater descent gate, drop off the cars, put our packs on and start walking for two days. The first night will be spent on the rim of the crater, in the Layanai forest. This area has a high population of elephants and buffalos. If the weather is calm you can hear roaring lions in the crater. Alternate option: Day hike on crater rim and return to vehicles.

DAY 9: Another day in the forest near Lemala along the crater rim. Camp in the detritus of old flat-topped acacia trees. Alternate option: Layover day at base camp with possibilitiy for additional game drives or day hikes.

DAY 10: Awake early to bird songs and hike to meet our vehicles. Drive to Embulbul depression, and start hiking again with small day packs, to the rim of Empakai crater, we will have our cook arrange a dinner at camp that night so we'll have time to listen to the strange sound of flamingos migrating to other soda lakes.

DAY 11: After breakfast, descend into Empakai crater, a very beautiful "bowl" of nature, containing the deepest soda lake in the world. Get a chance to approach the pink cloud of flamingos, just ten meters away, before ascending to the rim and walking to acacia camp.

DAY 12: Descend on foot to the rift valley gorge and meet our vehicles at the base of the active volcanic mountain of Oldoinyo Lengai, the Maasai's mountain of God. From there, drive to Lake Natron camp for a good hot lunch, a cold coke or beer, and a nice shower. Stay in campground.

The same day, for those who wish to, at around 2300hrs, leave for an ascent of Oldoinyo Lengai. The summit can be reached at around 0530 - 0600hrs. Tour the bubbling volcanic crater for about an hour, and then descend back to the camp not by 12:00 noon (13th day). Drive to Arusha and stay at Impala hotel.

DAY 14: Do some shopping/touring in Arusha and prepare for an evening departure.

LUXURY LODGING TRIP,

DAY ONE- Pick-up from Kilimanjaro International Airport Stay at
Ngurdoto Mountain/Impala Lodge

DAY TWO- Our breakfast will be taken at 0800hrs, then drive to
Manyara National park with packed lunch, 6 hrs game drive in Manyara
N.P. This is where you might sight tree climbing lion, giraffe, elephants
and troops of olive baboon. and then drive to Lake Manyara Serena
Lodge on the East Africa’s Rift valley escarpment.

DAY THREE AND FOUR- Drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, descend
eight wonder of the world 'NGORONGORO CRATER' for game viewing, THERE
ARE CHANCES OF SEEING BIG FIVE,BUT AT LEAST YOU MIGHT SEE THREE, Served
with hot-lunch in the crater floor and then stay at Ngorongoro Sopa
Lodge (day Three) and Ngorongoro Serena Lodge (day four)

DAY FIVE AND SIX- Early departure for Serengeti National Park, the
endless plains might draw your attention and you might have chances to
sight big prides of lions, migrating animals(depending on season),
leopards, crocodiles and many more ungulates from small antelopes to
large ones including bovines. Stay at Serengeti Sopa Lodge.

DAY SEVEN-Drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, visit Masai
boma ,spend late morning and early afternoon slaughtering a goat with
the Maasai and then roast it finally test roasted meat if not eating
them. You will witness warriors drinking fresh blood sometimes mixing
it with milk and harmoniously they will start dancing.........so
adventurous. Then drive to Lake Manyara Serena Lodge.

DAY EIGHT- Early drive to Tarangire National Park where you might
witness big herds of African tuskers, gigantic baobab trees, tree
climbing pythons and poachers hide. Then drive all the way to Arusha,
spend the afternoon shopping in Arusha town, in the evening drive to
the airport ready to fly back home
